Knowshon Moreno’s personal journey from poverty to the cusp of a Super Bowl title has been beset by monumental challenges; he now lines up in the backfield of the AFC Champion Denver Broncos only by the strength of his great passion, perseverance and support. He never forgets it.
During the pre-game national anthem Knowshon silently reflects on his faith and his life and all that he has seen, endured and overcome. Sometimes his emotions are overwhelming, sometimes the feelings overflow...literally. On December 1, 2013 before a big game against division rival Kansas City, Moreno was caught on camera unabashedly crying – thick, surreal tears staining his face and burning into our memories during a national broadcast.
The Broncos won, Knowshon scored a touchdown, and the questions flew. He downplayed the moment, saying that such emotion is common for him before games, when he, “runs through [his] whole life right there at that moment. Even the bad stuff.” He’s been poor, he’s been injured, he’s been arrested, he’s been written off as a “No-Show”, but now he’s found his stride, his center, his passion and his way to an outstanding season in search of a title.
Embrace his deep feelings and the commitment that all of the Broncos have demonstrated as they look to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Mile High with this interesting new design featuring a stylized portrait of the Denver running back.
