Maybe you loved him, maybe you hated him -- there's good chance that you felt both ways -- but it was just about impossible to ignore the legendary owner of the Oakland Raiders, Al Davis.
Al passed away this season after a full and intentionally antagonistic life that saw him rise from football scout to league commissioner to team owner, to royal pain-in-the-ass for the NFL. He knew the game inside-out, from the Xs-and-Os to the dollars-and-cents and used this knowledge to draft his own playbook and his own rules.
Whether helping to force the merger of the AFL/NFL, challenging the league over relocation rights or riding his hard-nosed "JUST WIN BABY!" philosophy to multiple SuperBowl titles, Davis never shied away from controversy. His waning years brought increasing criticism, but his legacy lives on and his team is fighting hard to honor him with a playoff berth.
The Raiders are also honoring him with a commemorative decal on their helmets that simply features his name on a plain black shield -- you can sport the same design across your chest in memory of the ornery owner and all that he stood for. It comes on 100% pre-shrunk cotton tees in light grey or black up to size 5XL (alternate sizes/cuts/colors available upon request).
